 The British
Institute of Training and Education was opened in 1995. In March 2000 the
Institute signed a joint venture agreement with the major British Industrial
Group, GKN under the auspices of the Kuwait Government's Offset Programme. The
Institute is now partly owned and managed by GKN and has long term development
plans scheduled for implementation over the next 5 years. GKN employs over
44,000 staff worldwide, is one of the UK's top 50 companies and brings to the
joint venture with BITE a world class expertise in Business Management,
Technical and Industrial Development as well as the support of a large scale
international corporation.
 In March 2002 the
British Institute achieved further expansion through a merger with HRD
(International) which is a subsidiary of NREC. The Chairman of the new company
is now Mr. Jamil Sultan - holding the remaining 51% shares of the British
Institute.
The British Institute is directed in Kuwait by British senior
staff who make up one of the most experienced education and training management
teams in the Gulf area.

The British Institute provides English language training for a

multi-level English language training programmes are available to suit any

Specialized training programmes of various lengths and at
different levels are available in many areas and can be combined with general
language training or purchased separately. These courses can be custom designed
to meet the training requirements of individual clients.
English language courses for individuals at the British
Institute operate on a continuously rotating schedule throughout the year. All
general courses are of 40 hours duration and are available at 7 levels. All
students registering for these courses are tested in order to place them in
suitable groups; testing is free of charge. The Institute offers English
language courses to adults and young persons. Women only courses are available
depending on demand.
All courses are taught by British qualified staff and an
indication of the quality of the programme is the high percentage of students

The British Institute offers a full range of training for
office and administrative staff covering all levels from Beginner to Advanced
in all the main Secretarial, Administrative and Office Skills in both English

The British Institute offers a full range of training in the
field of Accountancy and our standard Accountancy courses are designed to the
specifications of the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
(the ACCA).
The British Institute provides training in the fields of
Computing and Information Technology both to corporate clients and to
individuals attending public courses. Corporate clients have included Al Bahar
Shipping, KIA, (Armed Forces Hospital), KPC and KOC.
The British Institute has been awarded a partnership programme
with this prestigious UK University. This is a one year full-time preparation
programme for students who wish to study for a degree (B.A) at a British
University in Business Studies or a related fields.
