The Institute has a strong management group consisting of staff
who have held senior positions in the UK public and private training sectors
and who also have successful experience in the Middle East and especially in
Kuwait.

Mr.
Maurice Collis is the General Manager of HRD/BITE and has over 30 years
experience in Training, Management Development and Human Resource activity. For
20 years he operated at Manager and Director Human Resources level with Royal
Mail, UK and subsequently at Director level with national retail companies. In
1994 his work with BeWise the National Retain company led to the company
receiving a Training Award (first prize) in the large company grouping.
In 1996 he established his own Management Development and Training Consultancy
with a focus on National Vocational Qualifications working with major UK
companies. During this period also he obtained the NVQ level 4 in Training and
Development (equivalent to first degree) and also became an External Verifier
for the Institute of Personnel and Development (UK).
In 1998 he came to Kuwait as Organisation Development Director for the Public
Warehousing Company and National Real Estate Company. In January 2001 he became
General Manager of HRD International dedicated to provided Training, Management
Development and HR services throughout Kuwait. These services are provided to
the Sultan Center, NREC, PWC, KPC, Alghanim Industries, Gulf Bank, Commercial
Bank, Burgan Bank, House of Trade, Al-Sayer, Al-Mulla and other smaller
companies. In April 2002 HRD merged with BITE and he became General Manager of
both companies.

Mrs.
Lloyd has over 25 years experience of education and training at all levels.
This includes 11 years experience in UK government colleges including Head of a
Business and Management Studies Department and consequently in-depth knowledge
of the whole range of thinking in this field from basic vocational training to
Bachelor Degree level. In addition to this, she was for over 10 years, a main
board Director of Pitman International Training, London UK one of the largest
and best known UK training companies. Mrs. Lloyd was responsible for managing
and developing 6 established distance learning centres and all overseas
franchising operations. She was responsible for the development of the well
known Pitman Colleges in Kuwait and Bahrain and her experience of Kuwait dates
back to the mid 1980s. Mrs. Lloyd has experience of developing training
programmes in other overseas countries including Indonesia, Taiwan, Turkey and
Greece. She also has experience at Chief Examiner level for UK public
examination boards and educational publishing and training programme design for
the UK public sector. Mrs. Lloyd came to Kuwait in 1993 as Director of a large
International School and training consultant for the same company. In 1995 she
became Chief Executive of the British Institute of Training & Education.
In October 2002, as a result of the merger between BITE &
HRD, Mrs. Lloyd moved to Head Office and is now Director of Training &
Business Development, and also Director of newly established Kuwait-Maastricht
Business School.
Mrs. Lloyd is a member of the British
Institute of Management and the British Institute of Directors.

Mr.
O'Donnell has over 30 years experience of education and training including over
8 years of senior education management. He was a Head of the Arabic at the
Dept. Defence School of Languages for 5 years and has spent 7 years as a
consultant to the British Ministry of Defence on Middle East issues. Mr.
O'Donnell has experience of managing and delivering English language training
programmes both in the UK and in Kuwait including a period at the RAF School of
Education and Training. He has extensive and varied experience of language
programme design, management of teaching teams, training administration and
language evaluation. Mr. O'Donnell is a fluent Arabic speaker, a member of the
British Institute of Linguists and holds the UK Civil Service Interpretership
in Arabic (first class). He has extensive knowledge of the Middle East and its
characteristics as well as an in depth understanding of the people of the Gulf
Region.

Mrs.
Kalaf has over 15 years of experience in the Administrative field, she has
worked in Kuwait, Lebanon and Canada and is fluent in Arabic, English and
French. For 7 years she lead the department of Business, Secretarial and
Computer Training with The British Institute of Training and Education. Mrs.
Kalaf has designed and implemented several training programmes related to the
administrative and computer fields. She is an experienced trainer whose Kuwait
based clients include KPC, KOC, KIA, KOTC,KNPC, Saudi Arabian Texaco, Public
Warehousing Corporation, Bader Sultan, Al-Ahlia Industrial Projects, KIPCO,
Al-Salam Hospital, BKME, MH Al Shaya Group and the Ministries of Education,
Commerce and Communications.
Mrs. Kalaf has also managed Pitman Qualifications (UK)
programmes towards both the Secretarial & Administration and the Software
Applications Diplomas at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) since 2000.
Mrs. Kalaf believes in continuous self-development and updating
skills and techniques. She has during the past years extended her knowledge and
skills by attending several courses and seminars in the fields of Business
administration, Computing and Psychology. She is currently upgrading her
professional career through the University of Phoenix (USA).

Mr.
Harrison has over twenty years experience in the training and education fields
with over eight years being spent in Kuwait and the Gulf area. He has had
extensive experience in the management of Training Design, Development and
Delivery in Australia, the South Pacific and South East Asian areas, as well as
in the Middle East. During his 15 years as an Officer in the Royal Australian
Navy he was responsible for the design, construction and running of several
specialised Military Training Schools, which included the disciplines of
Disaster Management, Fire Fighting, Damage Control and Nuclear, Biological and
Chemical Defence. He has provided consulting advice for the rebuilding of
Kuwaiti Navy's training system and ship acquisition programmes. Mr Harrison has
also designed and implemented Train the Trainer programmes, Management and
Leadership Seminars, and Disaster Management Planning sessions for the
Military, Government and private sectors.
He enjoys a strong history in Business Development and Quality
Control and has had a wide variety of successes as a consultant to, and trainer
for the Military, Business and Oil sectors in the Middle East.
Mr Harrison speaks French and has an in depth understanding of
international and cross cultural training and business, particularly as applied
to Kuwait and the Gulf Region.
Mr.
Dajani, who is currently managing HRD International / Manpower & Government
Restructuring Programme 'Kuwaiti Training & Employment Programme' , has
extensive experience of education and training management both in Kuwait and
the United States. This includes the management of major training centres with
over 45 multi-national teaching staff as well as individual training
programmes. These programmes over a wide variety of students and trainees and
include 2 year Training Diploma courses in Secretarial Studies, one year
programmes for preparation of students awarded overseas scholarships and full
time Diploma Courses in Applied Accounting.
Mr. Dajani is fully bilingual (English / Arabic) has additional
experience of business management in the US and of working in the oil sector in
Kuwait. He has a thorough grasp of the training sector in Kuwait as well as an
in depth understanding of social, cultural and business characteristics of the
Gulf Region.
